Taking Control in Uncertain Times: Investing in My Creative Future

Life feels a little uncertain right now — for many of us. As someone working in the NHS and also building an art business from the heart, I’ve been juggling the reality of change and the desire for something more secure, fulfilling, and truly mine.
Instead of letting that uncertainty freeze me in place, I’ve decided to take control in the way I know best: by learning, growing, and preparing for the next chapter.
This week, I took a big (and exciting!) step forward and signed up for an online digital marketing course. Why? Because I want to better understand how to reach the right people, share my art in a more meaningful way, and build a business that supports my creativity long-term.
As much as I adore painting — whether it’s custom pet portraits, vibrant wildlife, or calming sketchbook moments — I know that talent alone isn’t enough. We live in a digital world, and learning how to communicate my brand, tell my story, and connect with art lovers online is just as vital as perfecting a brushstroke.
Here's what this course means to me:
🌱 Growth during chaos — rather than waiting for the “perfect time,” I’m creating momentum now
💡 Clarity and direction — digital skills give me the tools to reach the people who truly value what I offer
🎯 A stronger art business — one that’s visible, authentic, and sustainable
💖 Hope — that no matter what happens next in my career, I’m building something beautiful of my own
I know I’m not alone in feeling uncertain — so if you’re reading this and also feeling stuck or unsure, I hope this inspires you to take one small step forward. Whether it’s learning something new, revisiting an old idea, or simply creating space to reflect — you’ve got more power than you think.
Here's to growth, even in stormy seasons. 🌿
