When someone commissions me to create a piece of art, it fills me with pure joy. It’s not just about making a living—though of course, every commission supports my journey as a professional artist. It’s about connection, trust, and the incredible honour of being chosen to bring someone’s vision to life.
Whether it’s a beloved pet, a meaningful gift, or a wildlife piece that speaks to their story, each commission begins with someone seeing something in my work and thinking, “Yes, I trust you to create this.” That moment alone gives me so much confidence—each commission propels me forward, both personally and creatively.
I love the co-design process—hearing the stories behind the ideas, learning what details matter most, and then translating that into something tangible. There’s something really special about working closely with someone, shaping a piece that reflects both their heart and my style. Every brushstroke becomes part of a shared vision.
Commissions stretch me, shape my style, and often lead me down creative paths I might not have walked alone. They remind me why I do this: to connect, to create, and to make something meaningful together.
So, to everyone who has ever trusted me with a commission—thank you. You’ve given me more than work—you’ve given me belief in what I do.
