Last Sunday, we hosted a social sketching event—and it reminded me just how powerful it can be to carve out time to create and connect with others.
These kinds of gatherings are more than just about art; they’re about mindset. Giving yourself the opportunity to come together, to share your creative journey, and to listen to others talk about theirs can truly help solidify your own direction and purpose. Hearing about someone else's ambition often lights a spark in your own.
Personally, I found the session incredibly calming—despite the fact that my friend Emily and I were the ones organising and running it! The atmosphere was completely chilled. There was no competition, no pressure—just people creating in their own unique way. Everyone was working with different mediums and on totally different subjects, and yet it all just worked. Time flew by.
One of our members, an amazing photographer, shared some brilliant tips on how to use our phones to take better pictures of our work. At one point, the room was filled with nothing but “ooohs” and “ahhhhs” as we all realised what a difference a few tweaks could make!
I honestly can’t wait for the next one—but for now, all focus is on our Cowpe Creative Collective exhibition. It’s full steam ahead!
Next week, I’ll be sharing how I’m preparing for the show and what you can expect to see.
Until then—keep creating,Victoria Louisexxx

It was really great. I am not an artist, so I don't like painting in front of people, but I felt really relaxed there too!!
