Red squirrels have always held a certain magic for me — they’re so fleeting and whimsical. When you’re lucky enough to spot one, it feels like a tiny gift from nature.
I named this red squirrel painting Fading Flame because the species’ vibrant, fiery presence is sadly disappearing from much of the UK. Once widespread, these beautiful animals now survive only in a few precious areas — a reminder of the beauty we risk losing if we don’t protect it.
This piece is a heartfelt celebration of British wildlife art and a tribute to the fragile wonder of our natural world.
